Noticing Me Notice me
For the first time ever, I recognized my patterns align with hypomania. Now what?
a lil’ mental health blog
My name is Z; you probably know me as Mama Z the Guru.
In 2018, I was formally diagnosed with depression and anxiety. In 2022, I was formally diagnosed with a form of Bipolar II. I am unmedicated. I am an advocate for mental health, holistic wellness, therapy, self-care, and sexual education. I am a mother. I am a partner. I am a sister. I am a daughter. I am like everyone else. Not everyone deals with the same challenges—each of our stories are both common and unique. Thank you for reading mine.
It Has Many Faces

This piece was started during the ‘low’ end of my mental illness, and finished during the ‘high’ end. Read till the end for a vital mental health resource.
10 Ways to Get Out of That (depressive) Rut
The maintenance of a positive and healthy mind can feel like a full-time job, and let’s be honest, most of us are getting whooped by the full-time jobs and responsibilities we already have. The state of the world is basically in complete disarray with a variety of factors to indulge our anxieties and fears, and sometimes that weight gets too heavy. This is a plan I've created with the help of my therapist to help beat that mental rut. I hope something from this list helps you, too. 💗
